Solar Eclipse – Infused with necromantic energy by the evil Master Darque, Fred Bender, also known as Doctor Eclipse, returns to challenge Solar. Now completely insane, Bender battles the Man of the Atom as they trade energy blasts in the heart of Death Valley. However, Solar is consumed by Doctor Eclipse and is seemingly destroyed.
